The Story Behind True Taste

True Taste wasn’t born in a culinary school or a high-end restaurant. It was born in a small, cramped apartment kitchen in the heart of Ohio, amidst a pile of dishes and a smoke alarm that went off far too often.

I’m Adshi, and like many of you, I didn’t grow up knowing how to cook. My early twenties were a series of culinary disasters—rubbery chicken, pasta that was either crunchy or mushy, and enough burnt toast to last a lifetime. I was frustrated, but more than that, I was intimidated. Every cookbook I opened seemed to require ingredients I couldn't find and techniques I didn't understand.

A Mission for Reliability

One Tuesday evening, after yet another "foolproof" recipe failed me, I realized what was missing: reliability. Most recipes are written for ideal conditions with professional equipment. But in a real home kitchen, things are different. Ovens run hot, knives are dull, and time is always in short supply.

I decided to start True Taste with one simple rule: **Every recipe must be tested until it is truly foolproof.** I spent the next three years teaching myself the science of cooking—understanding why certain fats work better for searing, how acidity balances a heavy sauce, and why resting meat is the most important step in any meal. I documented everything, turning my failures into lessons and my successes into the foundation of this blog.
